Migrating as a Refugee or Humanitarian Entrant
Background
Permanent entry to Australia can be through the Migration Program (for skilled and family migrants) or the Humanitarian Program (for refugees and others in humanitarian need).
In the past 60 years, more than 660,000 refugees and displaced people have been resettled in Australia. Many had close family or other ties to Australia.
The Humanitarian Program provides offshore resettlement for people in humanitarian need overseas. This page provides information on applying for migration to Australia under the offshore component of the Humanitarian Program.
